Fair Haven School’s Bulletin Board
We’re proud to share with you the remarkable work of Fair Haven School’s Grade 3 teacher, Mrs. Seely’s bulletin board that’s right outside her classroom. The students are tracking where Run for One Planet are running on the board and checking back to our website! The board is beautifully designed with our photos, quotes and tips for environmental change.
The board will serve as a daily reminder of our message to the children that each of us has a role to play in cleaning up the Earth, while keeping them actively involved in our progress through the run. Their enthusiasm and support for Run For One Planet is second to none, and we thank Mrs. Seely for doing her part in instilling healthy environmental habits into these children at a young age.
Remember that you too can do something! Taking the time to commit to just one environmental action can be even more fun when doing it with your kids. Get them involved in the process and you’ll find it’s so much easier to stick with your change.
THIS IS AWESOME! My Mom (a teacher) did something similar with her class when I sailed a around the world in 99 days. I emailed, sent postcards and visited them at the end of my journey. My Mom’s class of grade ones got an unexpected education about different places around the world that year and the parents were hoping we would do it a again when their younger children got into grade one. However, this was not meant to be as we both retired, my Mom from teaching and me from sailing. However, that journey around the world I cherish as I did not make it alone but with a group of young children who were so eager to learn “first hand” about new plances! I can only hope you, and the teachers and children you meet along the way have a similarly enriching experience! I salute all the teachers and students who are making choices to make a difference for our Planet! My hats off to you! Cheers, Shauanh

Wow, this is awesome (to quote Shaunah – she said it best!). Cudos to you and to Mrs Seely; who must be a fantastic teacher to put this much effort into making learning about the environment exciting for her students. Good on all of you!
Cheers, Stacey
