Run Director
For over 15 years now I have either been working with schools and community groups helping them to raise money or helping to train and manage sales teams. I have enjoyed both immensely and now my pleasure comes from raising 2 beautiful little girls. Having kids gives the phrase lets leave the world a better place for the next generation so I am delighted to be involved with this amazing group of people.
Tour Manager
My working career has spanned many industries but in the last few years I have worked mainly in the health field. Through work and my own personal challenges, I have been able to see first-hand how our environment effects our health and vice-versa. Over the years I have changed my light bulbs, lowered my gas consumption and have made other small changes. The challenge for me right now is to see how I can step that up to the next level and volunteering with this project is a big step towards that. The convictions of Matt and Steph to do the same (but on a much larger scale) make me proud to be a part of this team. By making a few little changes, we can all make a difference!

Greg is one of those rare people with a unique blend of creativity and strategic thinking - with his left-brain and right brain working overtime, all the time.
Greg spent ten years as a Trouble Shooter / Problem Solver rooted in QA/QC for a multi-award winning Japanese auto manufacturer. Looking for new challenges, he returned to school studying Marketing and Communications and has been freelancing as a writer, idea generator and business development guru for the last 4 years. He firmly established himself in the business world by creatively helping such firms as RIM, Scotiabank, BellSouth (AT&T), Manulife Financial, John Hancock, Sirius Satellite Radio, Johnson & Johnson, McNeil Consumer Healthcare, Longs Drugs, Sears, and Punch Integrated Communications.
Feeling unfulfilled in the corporate realm and following his lifelong love of Mother Earth, he turned his focus towards projects promoting green organizations and initiatives while also continuing to integrate a simpler, greener lifestyle. In addition to R41P, Greg is associated with the Green Group helping out with business development for two magazines centered on sustainability: Corporate Knights and Our Green Home.
Greg is also an accomplished dog trainer, musician, fiction writer, an avid environmentalist / conservationist, long distance runner, cyclist and all around exercise enthusiast. When Greg learned of Stephanie, Matt and R41P, he immediately felt a kinship to them and knew he was a perfect fit for the position of Sponsorship Director…luckily for him, so did Matt and Stephanie.

Born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta, left a couple of times but always came back. Spent my working years in various admin positions but left that world behind when I suffered a cerebral aneurism in 1999. Since that time I've worked mostly in a volunteer capacity and don't know how I ever had time for a full time job. I teach fitness classes, am a director with Mad Hatters' Running Club and a director of the Bustin' Loose Race To End Breast Cancer which began in 2006. Bustin' Loose is the local equivalent of the CIBC Run for the Cure, raising funds for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. We were very proud to see participants nearly double and dollars raised nearly triple in only two years. I've been a runner my whole adult life; have done several half marathons, 5 marathons and 2 - 50 km ultra marathons, headed for ultra #3 in July. I live with my supportive husband Tim and two non-supportive cats, Barney & Mario. Tim and I love to travel, in Canada, US, many warm weather destinations and treated ourselves to an Italian adventure last year. Our chance meeting with Matt, Steph and Vanessa has changed our lives (thanks Adam) and it is an honour to be part of the Run For One Planet team.

Physical Training, Nutrition Consultant
To understand the caliber of Ferg Hawke the man and the quality of his athletic accomplishments, one should consider the stress of organizing and preparing for these strenuous feats as well as the physical and emotional demands and, usually, distress that endurance athletes have to contend with.
Ferg is an affable, self-effacing family man who has so many friends that they clamor to be a part of his racing crew, despite the potential for their own meltdown.
His racing resume includes sub 10 hour Ironman Triathlon finishes and a top three finish at the Ultraman World Championships in Hawaii. However, it is in the sport of ultrarunning that his name has become synonymous with talent and toughness. He was the winner of the inaugural Eagle 100 miler, one of Canadas toughest trail runs. In the world-renowned classic multi-stage Marathon des Sables, held in the Moroccan desert, his eighth place performance was the highest ever by a North American. Amazingly he has managed to even top that in taking on the 216kms Badwater Death Valley run, which, given the temperatures and climbs is considered by many to be the worlds toughest road race. Ferg has twice placed second overall to two of the worlds very best and it took uberultrarunner Dean Karnazes and a new course record by seven-time Western States winner Scott Jurek to beat him.
There is no doubt this Canadian has arrived on the world stage in his chosen sport and in doing so he has destroyed the previous National record for the course.
Despite being well into the masters division, Fergs entry into the 2006 event has put all challengers on notice that things could get really hot on what is possibly his final run to the Mt. Whitney finish line.
The Dream Team is made up of Matt Corker and Steph Corker Irwin, an energetic brother-sister combo that finds inspiration in helping people succeed.
Matt - a graduating student at UBC in Human Resource Management and International Business that has traveled the globe while studying value-based leadership and international marketing abroad. He has been actively involved in the UBC community throughout his degree in all areas of student development as well as in his current role as Sponsorship Director for UBC Athletics & Recreation. He finds enjoyment in giving out Free Hugs, having dance parties where ever possible, and making people smile.
Steph - an established recruiter working for Business Objects, an SAP company, has a true knack for creating innovative business solutions. She strives to become an expert baker, to continually push herself with new challenges, and to change the world.
This pair fully endorse a healthy and active lifestyle and have partaken in marathons, tri-athlons, and snowshoeing endevaours themselves - but nothing lives up to what Ms Tait and Mr Hill are embarking on. The Dream Team is extremely excited to be on board for this journey to change the world, one step at a time.
