Vanessa’s last blog
Wow it’s been almost 6 months on the road with Run for One Planet. I’ve seen all of Canada and what a beautiful country we live in. It reminds me to look after it and do a lot of what Matt and Steph are inspiring people to do. Once I get home I’m going to commit to using a mug and water bottle whenever I get water or a hot drink, I will always use reusable bags, I will reduce (seriously Steph I will commit to this one), I will think twice about the consequences of what my actions are doing to the environment and I really want to start a compost.
We are now into Maine where I will be getting off the bus in two days and handing the reigns onto Simon. I’m feeling a little reminiscent but also am excited to be going onto another adventure. I’m thinking of the many people that have touched me through their generosity, inspiration, encouragement, excitement and wisdom. There are so many amazing people I’ve met, too many to mention, but you all hold a special part in my life.
We left St. John on October 16th where we were staying with the very welcoming Barb and Randy Erkstrom and the rest of their family. We had a great night there filled with amazing food, great company and they made us feel just like family. Thank you so much and I look forward to seeing all the Orchard’s in BC next summer for a very special friends wedding.
So, Matt and Steph as I say adieu. Thank you for all the memories. Sure there have been tough days and very long days, but there have also been fun days, short days and inspiring days. You guys rock and I’m so very proud of what you are doing out here taking one step at a time and inspiring people one person at a time. My memories will last a lifetime, thank you so much for that! I love you guys and go out and rock the USA.
