Pennies on the Road…
Pennies on the road……
Another two pennies I picked up this morning on my ride out with Steph. The coins I pick up are always a reminder of a very special friend Elisa and today a reminder of a very special cousin Dee (it would have been her 45th birthday). Both have left fond memories on my spirit.
These pennies, of which I’ve found many on this journey called Run for One Planet, remind me to be still and take the time to slow down, remind me of family and friends, and remind me to keep going and never giving up. All being the amazing gifts that life brings to us on a daily basis.
We have a tradition in the RV to read the quote of the day in Robin Sharma’s “Daily Inspiration” book. This book was given to us by an amazing group of people at the Youth Leadership Camps Canada……today, August 17th, it reads:
“Have your beautiful things but do not be imprisoned by them. Own them but do not let them own you. Give the main aim of your life over to far more important pursuits such as discovery of your highest potential, giving of yourself to others and making a difference by living for something more important than yourself. Success is fine but significance is the real name of the game.”
At the end of my journey on the road with the Run for One Planet, I plan to donate all money I have found along the route. As pennies and coin take a long time to add up, the amount may not be significant but the stories behind these pennies mean an awful lot.
Did you know there is new book out titled, “Pennies On The Road”? I just read and it was quite interesting.
