It is a Wonderful Life (Steamworks Brew Pub to Canucks Playoff Game!)
With sweeping views of those beauty North Shore Mountains this guy, (me) was missing for so long and now, had them at every turn, as we made our way around a room full of our valued R41P Team and collection of friends who made the journey to tip a few with us.
Rob, Sonia and Frank even made a surprise video to “Welcome Home Steph & Matt”!! They crafted a “best of bloopers and on the road hi-jinks” for all of us to laugh until we almost peed our shorts and shed a few more, (didn’t think we had any left) tears of joy and memories from our incredible experience on the odyssey of a lifetime.
Thanks for a great night Steamworks! See you all soon!
Saturday saw our homecoming weekend continue to “roll baby roll”. This time not from RV breakdowns forcing us to just keep moving forward, like we always had to do on tour. This roll baby roll was because of an extended period organized by our intrepidly tenacious team member, Adam! All we had to do was keep moving forward and keep the urge to sleep for 20 hours at bay, for just a few more hours.
This round was: 4 VIP seats and a community booth at Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs with our beloved Canucks against Chicago! Steph and I were whisked to ice level for a welcome home announcement by the voice of the Canucks and then, they plastered our grinning (and punch-drunk) faces on the arena jumbo-tron for a welcome home by all 20,000 of our fellow Canuck’s fans! Check out the pics!
For the rest of the night we had people (some we knew and some we knew, now) stopping by our booth, for a handshake & photo, passing, “congrats you two” and lots of that Vancouver hometown hospitality! What a way to come home!
Thank you to the Canucks for showing such hometown support to 2 of their biggest fans as well, Adam and Me! We even got to turn back the hands of time and become 10 years old again, when in the food and beverage area at the top of GM Place, we knocked shoulders with our childhood hero, Scotty Bowman! Talk about a good Canadian experience for 2 Canadian kids!
