ICE, ICE BABY….
After one painful week of running on not one, but two ankles with tendonitis/ mild sprains, thanks to a little re-taping, Arnica, and an extra day off, I’m back on the road.
After pouring my heart and soul into this for the past 18 months solid, to be totally honest, it’s quite frightening getting injured right out of the gate. I really didn’t want to tell anyone I was hurting (let alone how much). I just wanted to keep going, pretend like nothing’s wrong. Truth be told, both are still a bit sore. Nothing like before though.
I know we just ran the Rockies, and I don’t take that lightly. But I wonder… how much of these injuries have been mental? How much is a result of the stress we’re under out here?…
Calgary has been awesome so far – city welcomes like this, people out showing how much they REALLY CARE about taking real action for the planet make me feel it is all worth it… RV breakdowns… mudslides…. and yes, even the tendonitis…. did I say mild sprains?

You’re my hero Steph! 🙂

Didn’t anyone tell you that too much pounding on the pavement will make you short?!
Take care of those joints & tendons…they need to last a lifetime.
Luv, luv, luv,
Pops!
