4 Months back and Fall is here!
Hi Run For One Planet community! It’s your co-founders saying hello and hoping everyone in our R41P family are doing awesome as we prepare for Fall’s transition from the lazy (and sometimes hazy) days of summer 2009. As I type these words, it is currently raining like only Vancouver knows how to let it pour. Raindrops of change.
These last few weeks saw big temperatures and sunny skies, as Steph traveled and spoke to thousands more 1st year University students on her annual speaking tour around America and Canada with Playfair ( HYPERLINK “http://www.playfair.com” www.playfair.com) and is beginning her next endeavor (stay tuned). While I, got my feet wet, writing a story for an online magazine in New Brunswick called Maple Green Wellness, and doing my first announcing duties at Ironman Canada in Penticton! For us both, a great way to end the summer back from our journey of all journeys!
Just wanted to fill you in on some exciting updates as we gear up for our 2nd Board of Directors meeting on the 14th of September and will be eager to share with you some of the Legacy plans and ideas we have cooking, with our most auspicious board as our guide.
We continue to run on our favorite trails around the city. In fact, we’re going out tonight after a conference call with our soon to be announced, Executive Director and a yoga class for Steph. Though the miles are significantly shorter each time and our weekly total now amounts to a few days worth compared to the tour! My how things change
Small steps continue to add up. And just like fall, a bit in transition for long-term sustainability.
On the speaking front, Steph and I are being asked to do some keynote presentations, namely with our membership on Team Power Smart with BC Hydro on Friday, Sept. 11th and our original Lululemon location on West 4th Ave. on Sept. 17th from 6-7:30pm. Come by if you’re in town and share some stories from our Run For One Planet highway with us!
A big shout of THANKS goes out to Tim Yu, our intrepid new “Steph & Matt” bio writer! He just delivered our freshly written bios for our ready to go, speakers bureau’s packages! This will set in motion, our desire to share our Keynote and power point presentation with community groups and companies wanting to inspire their employees with lessons and images we learned from the road.
We passionately believe in empowering our kids, to know they hold enormous power with their daily choices and how choosing wisely, with the Planet’s health in mind, creates a whole new generation, growing up green!
We feel honored having the Run For One Planet Legacy for Kids as part of our post tour ability to continue inspiring Action, through Fit Kids, living on a Fit Planet.
Now come on everyone, drop what you’re doing and, Run Forest Run!
