As the successful applicant, you will help to make a difference to our planet, gain valuable skills that you can transfer to your current and future jobs, and interact with a fantastic (and expanding!) team of people.
For the duration of this position, you will be working independently out of your home, interacting with both our Home Team (including our Race Director, Directors, Publicist), and our Road Team (especially our Co-Founders and Road Manager), mostly through online correspondence, plus some regular telephone meetings, and occasional in-person meetings.
Under no circumstance will you be expected to incur any of your own financial costs without compensation.

- Desire to contribute to the environmental movement
- High level of reliability and organization

SCHOOL EVENTS MANAGER
Working in tandem with our current School Events Managers, Lindsay Gardner and Kim Kaplan, your role will consist of:
- Using the tour’s database of cities we will be running through (specifically those we seek to stop in for events and media exposure), contact elementary and high schools, and post secondary institutions to inquire about event opportunities with them as we run through their area. Focus contact on those schools who have demonstrated a keen interest in environmental stewardship; some green school databases will be provided.
- Initiate contact with such schools through professional and engaging email correspondence, requesting an event opportunity for the tour
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the school representative(s,) mostly through online dialogue, to successfully book school event.
FOOD EVENTS MANAGER
As Food Manager, your role will be a support position, working in conjunction with the Run for One Planet’s Food Managers, Mao Murakami and Laura Mousseau. Working together, you three will:
- Research potential organic food partners in the USA, from large organic food retailers such as Whole Foods, to smaller organic food/ snack providers
- Initiating contact with food providers through professional and engaging email correspondence, requesting support of the Run for One Planet through food sponsorship, and event partnership when appropriate
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the company representatives, mostly through online dialogue, to successfully secure food sponsorship.
- Negotiating and securing partnership agreement. Once booked, continue communication to leverage this opportunity to realize two of the tour goals of inspiring 1 million new actions for Earth and raising $1 Million for our Legacy of Action.
- Correspondence to last up to the point where the tour presents at their location.
